Freewritings and Short Stories

I first came across the term ‘freewriting’ on a creative writing course taught at CityLit in London. Inspired by a single word prompt and within a set time limit, one writes down anything and everything that comes to mind, pen never leaving the page.

There are times I can make neither head nor tail of my scribblings. Random words and crazy ramblings. But there are times it sparks an idea, an idea that can be developed into a short story, novel or as part of a novel-in-progress.
